I have owned this car for over 35 years, NOM so I always had a Big Block. The last one was a 427 Alum head W/5 speed. Quit the old school and went with a LS1 & 4L60E, A/C, Rack & pinion, aftermarket frame, with 96 suspension. 98 seats fitted with 65 material and colors. I had to keep the side pipes. I brought my new daughter home from the hospital in this car. Her frist ride was a red vette with side pipes. Plans are to give it to her someday, after I am finished hammering it.
